Facing up to the great mask debate

It’s generally accepted, we’re benefiting from very sound advice in our efforts to beat the worst effects of Covid-19 and, as a result, the vast majority of people are taking on board Government directives.

At the start of the crisis, there was no hard and fast rules relating to the wearing of masks and two months later, the picture still isn’t all that clear. 

The latest phase of the great mask debate focuses on members of An Garda Siochana, who are being advised to wear ‘face covering in certain situations’. 

Similar to the civilian situation, it’s not mandatory.
