Fermoy Musical Society is busy with rehearsals for their upcoming show ‘Encore!’ This will be a high octane show, featuring much loved numbers from the pantheon of the great musicals, both old favourites and more contemporary shows.
We have every reason to be approaching this show with joy and confidence, after the success of our 2024 production ‘Shrek’. We were delighted, after this show, to be promoted to the ‘Gilbert’ section of the Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS).
Though FMS was a member of AIMS for many years, we only began to put our shows forward for adjudication in 2016. We have been nominated for awards in a range of categoriesf or every show since, culminating in our elevation to the top tier of musical societies after the smashing success of ‘Shrek’.
The beauty of our upcoming production, ‘Encore!’ is the range of numbers and the scope it gives for our extremely talented singers and dancers. It’s a fun, bright, colourful production, with big soulful chorus numbers, haunting duets and big brash solos, highlighting the best of our wonderful local talent. Encore is a fitting name for this show – we’ve been doing this for 100 years and we are doing it again.
The show is running for three nights in The Palace Theatre, Fermoy, from Thursday 6th to Saturday, 8th November. The Box Office will be open this Saturday and Sunday from 11am-1pm in the Youth Centre for people to walk in and purchase tickets.
