Emotional night in Ballyduff as Kennys say ‘thanks so much’

It was an extremely busy, eventful and sometimes stressful end to 2023 for the Kenny family from the townland of Ballinoe in Ballyduff Upper. While most families were looking forward to the festive season, 14-year-old Caroline Kenny had an important operation to undergo in Germany.

As has always been the case, family, neighbours and friends were wonderfully supportive to Caroline, who is a student in Blackwater Community School, Lismore.

There was an associated cost for the Kenny family and in keeping with the times, they set up an iDonate fundraiser. This initiative surpassed all expectations and when other donations were included, the final amount came to a staggering €69,000. Speaking at last Saturday night’s ‘thank you’ night in St. Michael’s Hall, Ballyduff, Caroline’s father, Pat, said the public’s response had been incredible.
