Here is a unique visitor to North Cork – a moorish gecko found in a bunch of grapes all the way from Spain.
Andrew Boyle, is owner of the Araglin Animal Sanctuary, and was shopping in a County Cork shop when he made the surprising discovery.
No complaints from the animal lover, he is delighted with his find and is currently looking after newly christened ‘El Gecko’.
“He came here from a supermarket, in a punnet of grapes, but would have originated in Spain. I’ve been making a lot of enquiries about it and it looks like other people have had similar experiences with bananas.
