A grand sum of €100,000 has been won by a Cork woman who purchased a scratch card at a Rathcormac shop.
Speaking with the National Lottery team the woman said she had bought the scratch card and forgotten about it, after she had purchased it two weeks previous from Costcutters, Bridgeland East, in Rathcormac.
“I bought the scratch card almost two weeks ago and had forgotten about it – it was buried at the bottom of my handbag. Last weekend I decided to clear out my bag and that’s when I found the unscratched card so I got a coin and scratched it. I screamed with excitement when I matched three fireplaces which meant I’d won the top prize; I was in total shock!” she said.
Welcoming the festive windfall, which she secured on the Countdown to Christmas scratch card, the woman will have her cheque just in time for the holidays.
