Schools, clubs, workplaces, families and friends are being encouraged to host their own Christmas Jumper Day on a day that suits them in the run-up to Christmas to help raise funds for those in need in Ireland.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) launched the a Christmas Jumper Day opportunity to celebrate the wonder of Christmas and to raise funds for the Society. All you have to do is pick a date on which to hold your Christmas Jumper Day and register with SVP at fundraising@svp.ie to receive your fundraising pack.

SVP urges those who organise a Christmas Jumper Day, to pick a date, a time and then advertise the event to their family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues.

Rose McGowan SVP National President says that if you don’t have a Christmas jumper yet why not, jazz up a plain jumper with some tinsel and lights! Most of all she says “Don’t forget to have fun while raising much needed funds which allows SVP to help those in need in our communities.”

The SVP network of 230 Vincent’s shops throughout the country will be promoting the SVP Christmas Jumper Day theme and will be holding raffles in store for your chance to win a SVP very own designed Christmas jumper. Tickets can be bought in Vincent’s shops nationwide. Celebrity Doireann Garrihy is lending her support to this year’s Campaign.
