D’hillbillies Barn Dance well supported once again

There was no shortage of cowboy hats and dancing boots at this year’s D’hillbillies Barn Dance, as an enthusiastic turnout of over 1,000 people paid-in at Gortnahown Farm near Glocca Maura last Saturday night.

This year’s dance drew an even bigger crowd than last year’s 800 and despite the larger attendance, housekeeping was in order, with buses reported to be running smoother than the year before. 

Drink tokens were bought by the entrance gates, an idea proposed last year which helped patrons avoid long queues. It wasn’t long until a steady stream of country lovers poured through the gates, eager to get the night underway.
