Castlelyons Community Council has appealed to Cork County Council to permit kids with special needs to access the playground in the village at a dedicated time.
The committee said in their correspondence, that a local group of parents have made the request.
In a letter to Diane Finucane (Acting Municipal Officer), they outlined the reasons for this and asked that the council would facilitate it.
“This is a lovely idea so that children with challenges could utilise the playground in their own time and their parents would meet with other parents in a similar situation and support each other.
