A couple who have been at the centre of a long-running dispute over housing with Cork County Council in Fermoy have been arrested for trespassing and have appeared in front of Cork Circuit Court. 

Emma O’Driscoll and Jason O’Donoghue, parents to four children ranging from 5 years old to just six months, say their arrest took place at 8am at Beechfield Estate in front of their children last Thursday morning. They appeared in court in Cork City on Friday morning. 

“The Gardai arrived out of the blue when I was trying to get the children ready for school,” Ms O’Driscoll, 23, said.
