Fermoy Municipal Authority is to compile a report into the feasibility of enhancing the Triangle Field beside the River Blackwater in Fermoy, by adding seating areas for public use, though any proposals for new amenity features in the site would need to be approved by the Office of Public Works (OPW) given the field is part of the town’s flood prevention plan.

At this month’s meeting of Fermoy Municipal Authority, Cllr Noel McCarthy called on the council to develop the area for the public by installing new seating area, to maximise the potential of the site following the installation of the Tower art piece earlier this year.

“People are saying it’s a beautiful area, right in the heart of the town, so I think we should enhance it,” he said.
