A major construction project in Cork is amongst the winners at The Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE Awards) for 2025.

The Douglas Rochestown Educate Together National School (ETNS) project in Cork, delivered by BAM, exemplifies excellence in modern, sustainable educational infrastructure. Completed on time and within budget, it took the awards for ‘Education or Healthcare Category’.

The industry’s biggest social event, now dubbed ‘Construction’s Big Night Out’, saw over 1,400 attendees gather to celebrate the very best in Irish construction – the ICE Awards have become the premier recognition of performance excellence for construction in Ireland, highlighting innovation, quality, and dedication within the sector.

The Awards cover a broad range of categories including Residential, Civil Engineering, Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare and Education, as well as associated industry awards for Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Construction Product, Third-Level Course, and Industry Contribution. Introduced in 2025, the ‘Future Leader’ category highlights emerging talent in the industry.

This year’s winners represent a wide array of projects across multiple categories, reflecting the diversity and excellence within the industry. Notable winning projects include: Commercial Category over €30m (sponsored by Sika Ireland): 2-4 Wilton Park by Sisk – A state-of-the-art office complex in Dublin’s Docklands, exemplifying modern design and sustainability.

Fitout or Refurbishment €2m to €5m (sponsored by Howden): Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium by Grant Fit Out Ltd and LAM Architects Ltd – A transformative 7-month renovation of Shelbourne Park modernised the nearly century-old venue into a flexible, accessible, and vibrant event space beyond traditional race nights.

Public Building Category: Carnegie Free Library, Swords, Dublin by Kelbuild Ltd – The restoration of a historic landmark, preserving cultural heritage while integrating modern amenities.

The winners were selected by an expert panel of judges from various construction disciplines. The process included an interview stage at the Convention Centre Dublin in February, where finalists presented their projects and engaged with the panel.
