
A significant planning decision has been issued in Mitchelstown by Cork County Council, granting conditional approval for a major extension and modification of the residential development at the former Presentation Convent.
The landmark town centre site, which has long been valued for its architectural and historical importance, has received permission for additional housing, with 41 conditions attached, designed to safeguard the heritage of the site and ensure public safety, as well as regulate construction activities on the grounds of the protected structure.
The permission is set for a total of 10 additional residential units; these include 2 dwelling units, 4 apartments within the former convent building and 4 apartments within the former chapel building.
