Having completed the 10K challenge - l-r: Seamus Keane, Martin Carr, Paddy Ryan and Johnathon Kenneally. Well done lads!

A group of four runners from Conna were the main organising force behind an Easter weekend 10km running challenge that took place in gardens across Cork and Limerick on Saturday morning last.

The idea for the ‘10km Garden Challenge,’ came when Paddy Ryan, Jonathan Kenneally, Martin Carr and Seamus Keane found that they were no longer able to go for their regular 5 mile runs, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Paddy Ryan told The Avondhu that ‘well over 100 people,’ took part in the challenge, as well as some of the local athletics clubs in the area.
