HIQA have published yet another report finding fault with Aperee Living in Conna, where urgent fire safety measures at the nursing home were found as they were almost two years previously.
The Aperee Living chain was taken over by a group of investors in November 2023, after two of its centres (Belgooly in Cork and Ballygunner in Waterford) were taken over by the HSE and subsequently closed. Another, in Callan, County Kilkenny, was taken over by the HSE too but remains open.
A HIQA report found that residents’ money was used for the day-to-day running of the Callan centre, something which was also found at the facility in Conna last year.
