A founding committee member of the Mitchelstown Community Preschool has expressed her disappointment that the people of the town were not given the opportunity to help save the school from closure.
Eileen O’Sullivan said that despite the fact the school has been in Mitchelstown for almost 30 years – of which she was one of the founding members – she is very disappointed that something wasn’t done to keep it open and another community project was allowed to fail.
“I was reliably informed that there was enough children willing to enrol if it was kept open, sisters and brothers of those already attending and more besides,” Ms O’Sullivan told The Avondhu this week.
