Close eye on Tralee with Roses’ local connections

All eyes in south Tipperary and south Limerick are sure to be on the dome in Tralee early next week, when televised coverage of the 2025 Rose of Tralee is beamed into households, with both the German and Queensland Roses tracing local connections.

Siobhan Edwards, the Queensland Rose had a very welcoming stay in south Tipperary recently, as her preparations for the annual contest began with a visit to trace her roots when on Irish soil.

One distant relative, Kathleen Russell from Ballyporeen, spoke to The Avondhu this week, detailing her time spent with Ms Edwards.
