A seven kilometre walk will take place in Clogheen on 4th January, for Nollaig na mBan, to raise money for two cancer charities. Tickets for adults are €20, while (accompanied) children can join in too for €6 per child.
The trail is a loop that takes in Shanrahan Forest around Clogheen, including part of the Blackwater Way national trail, as well as some of the Clogheen Loop trail. Walkers will cross the River Duag twice and go by the historic Shanrahan Cemetery, before finishing in the Market Stone with a light lunch of soup and sandwiches.
Organised by the Rhododendron Walking Festival Committee, the walk takes place on Saturday, 4th January at 10.30am. The walk will be raising funds for the Solas Cancer Support Centre and the Irish Cancer Society.
