Crown forces will engage Irish Volunteers and members of the Irish Citizens’ Army in a set piece battle as part of this weekend’s festival programme in Conna.
The 1916 themed re-enactment is scheduled for 2.30pm on Sunday 31st July in Conna Community Sports Field. Readers are also reminded that the fancy dress parade takes place on Sunday evening at 7pm.

All is in readiness for what promises to be a busy and enjoyable bank holiday weekend in Conna. The festival gets under way on this Friday evening (29th July) with a 5k run.
This event is being held in conjunction with St. Catherine’s AC and has an entry fee of €10 per runner. Registration from 6.30pm in Conna Community Centre – further race details from Frank on 087-6192070.
Items are still being accepted for Saturday night’s auction.
Sunday will be a hectic day in the community field with lots of family entertainment laid on.
There’s music nightly and the public are encouraged to support the various events.
