Jack Ahern from Carrignavar is one of ten semi-finalists in with a chance of picking up a cool €5,000 in a national radio jingle competition on Today FM.

Jack has made the top five of the Le Crunch Apples 7G jingle competition following hundreds of entries from across the country, commenting: "I must say being chosen as one of the finalists of the competition is fantastic. Making music is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling creative processes around, but making music that other people deem significant or worthy, that is where the real reward lies. Thanks to Le Crunch for letting me get this far"

Running for the last four weeks, Le Crunch Apples teamed up with Today FM daytime stars, Dermot & Dave, to begin the search for more hidden Irish talent, following the success of its recent Apple of My Eye song contests.

This time, Le Crunch Apples were looking for listeners to write a punchy four line jingle and submit it online through the competition website www.ouitolecrunch.com

Over the last four weeks, some of the best entries have been used on air while the judges began a selection process resulting with a strong contender from Shannon.

Among the judges this year are stand-up comedian Fred Cooke and Today FM’s Head of Production, Sinead Buckley. The national final will be taking place at the Today FM studios this Friday, March 27.
