After forty-three years one hundred and fifteen days, Mr Dermot G O’Driscoll is retiring from the teaching profession.

In what had been planned as a day of thanksgiving for his teaching career not even the long shadow of Hurricane Ophelia could dampen the celebratory mood of the huge attendance gathered in Scoil an Athar Tadhg, Carraig na bhFear recently.

Mr O’Driscoll said he felt overjoyed on hearing the complimentary words of each speaker and that he was grateful to everyone who had helped organise the occasion.
