
A man has appeared before Fermoy District Court after being arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant, having crashed a car and fled the scene.
Last week, Gardaí in Mitchelstown got an alert from the Automated Number Plate Recognition System in their patrol car about a passing vehicle near Rathcormac. When signalled to stop by Gardaí, the driver failed to do so and a pursuit ensued, with the vehicle crashing and the three occupants abandoning the vehicle, uninjured.
“The driver failed to stop when signalled to do so and following a pursuit, the three occupants abandoned the vehicle. Thankfully, nobody was injured,” a statement from Gardaí read.
