The Town Centre Living Initiative, which commenced in 2018, has published its findings this week in a wide-ranging report.
The pilot initiative had provided 6 towns across Ireland with €100,000 in funding to explore how people could be encouraged to move into the centres of the chosen towns, and how to address the problem of vacant properties there.
According to the findings of the TCLI Report, Cappoquin’s urban living has given way to suburban and rural building, and has hastened ‘the decline of the traditional town life’.
