
Cappoquin Rowing Club have been selected as finalists in the Youth category of the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2025 and are now in with a chance of securing part of the €100,000 prize fund if they progress to the national finals.
Named as one of the 146 county finalists, they will now progress to the next stage of the judging process and compete for a place in the national finals – the 35 national finalists will be announced during the summer. These awards, now in their seventh year, aim to honour, showcase and celebrate the inspiring work being carried out nationwide by thousands of projects, clubs and individuals who have received support from Good Causes funding.
The total prize fund available on the night of the Good Causes Awards ceremony in October is €100,000, whereby each of the seven category winners will receive €10,000 and the overall Good Cause of the Year will take home an additional €25,000. A special category, ‘Hero of the Year’, will be announced on the awards night in recognition of outstanding work, the recipient will receive a prize of €5,000. In addition, each of the 35 national finalists will receive a cheque for €1,000. The awards ceremony is set to take place on Saturday, 18th October in Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co. Kildare.
The other Waterford finalists are Déise Women’s Shed Dungarvan (Community), Tides & Tales Maritime Community Project (Heritage), The Carbally Community Development Project (Health & Wellbeing) and St. Paul’s Boxing Club Waterford.
CORK FINALISTS
6 local organisations from Cork were announced as county finalists in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2025. These include The Crann Centre, which offers lifelong support to people of all ages living with congenital, progressive, or acquired neuro physical disabilities and their families, and Cork Nature Network, an organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting Ireland’s wildlife through education, conservation and research.
Along with nominees Cork Nature Network (Heritage category) and The Crann Centre (Health & Wellbeing), the other Cork finalists are Rebel Wheelers (Sport), Duhallow Community Food Services (Community), Rainbow Club Cork Centre for Autism (Youth) and The Kabin Studio (Arts & Culture).
While in Limerick, Sing Ireland are finalists in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards in the Arts & Culture category, along with West Limerick Resources CLG (Youth), Lansdowne Active Retirement Association (Community), Templeglantine Tidy Towns (Heritage), NOVAS (Health & Wellbeing) and St Kieran’s GAA Club Limerick (Sport).
Across Tipperary, the following are finalists: Finding A Voice (Arts & Culture), Borrisokane Men’s Shed (Community), Tipperary Museum of Hidden History (Heritage), Down Syndrome Ireland – Tipperary Branch (Health & Wellbeing) and Cloughjordan FC (Sport).
