After fourteen years in Mitchelstown, Canon Michael Fitzgerald PP has announced his retirement.
The news was met this week with considerable sadness by his parishioners because during his time in the parish, he has given one hundred per cent in every initiative that he has undertaken.
He came to Mitchelstown initially as a Curate and three years later, when Canon Timothy O’Leary retired, Fr Michael was appointed Parish Priest.
