Calling on all creative, enterprising secondary school students from Transition Year, 5th year and 6th year across the country to enter their business enterprise competition 2015. This exciting multi-format competition is back, and Griffith College, Dublin are asking students to use their entrepreneurial, social media and presentation skills to pitch an original idea, or business product, to a panel of experts.
The Head of the Business Faculty at Griffith College, Mr. Seamus Fitzpatrick, said; “We have held many successful business enterprise competitions here on campus and would encourage all budding entrepreneurs to enter the 2015 competition. It’s a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurial students with a passion for the business world”.
2015 DEADLINE
The winning team will be presented with the Business Enterprise Trophy and a cheque for €500. Applications should be received no later than Friday, February 13th, 2015 and the competition format is as follows:
In teams of no more than four, students are initially asked to submit a clear description of their enterprising business idea in 2,000 words or less. At stage two the shortlisting begins where successful applicants are asked to use their social media savvy to market their business idea by creating a Facebook page and promoting it to as wide an audience as possible.
On Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 in the Griffith College Dublin Conference Centre, the shortlisted teams will get the opportunity to exhibit their business idea/product in a pop-up display. Teams will also formally present their ideas to a panel of experts who will then choose the winning team. Exhibition and presentation are important moments for all hard-working, budding entrepreneurs, and family and school supporters will be very welcome to lend their support at this event.
On this date school supporters will also be given the opportunity to attend business workshops designed by the Business Faculty at Griffith College which will provide an educational and interesting taste of life as a third level student.
