Briefing issued as Abbeyville to be accommodated ‘shortly’

Abbeyville House in Fermoy will be used to accommodate families and children ‘shortly’, according to the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

News of this comes in an update on Temporary Emergency Accommodation for International Protection Applicants, as issued to TDs and councillors.

A statement issued to The Avondhu this week from the Department read: “The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth have agreed to use Abbeyville House, Fermoy. It is anticipated that 56 people will be accommodated at this location. A full briefing has been issued to local elected representatives and statutory agencies”.
