Blueberries Bakery and Cafe, Mitchelstown’s official opening will take place this Saturday. The celebrations will be ongoing throughout the day with the official ribbon cutting at 1.30pm. This is a change to the original time of 3pm.
“All this week we have been celebrating with various offers such as €1 coffees, free desserts, etc! On Friday all cream buns are just €1. On Saturday we will have various promotions and offers in store.
“On Sunday we will have buy one breakfast get one half price, as well as a four course set menu at just €19.95. The feedback from the town has been amazing and we appreciate all your support since we opened our doors on April 30th”, Michael O’Sullivan told The Avondhu this week.
“Face painting and music will be provided on Saturday along with free samples and a competition. We are delighted with the support of neighbouring businesses. It’s also great to see the empty units disappearing on Upper Cork Street with many new businesses opening their doors in recent times. We at Blueberries aim to support the local community as much as we can having sponsored various charities and fundraising initiatives in the town and surrounding parishes.
“We currently employ 10 people at the cafe as well as providing much spin off employment through our suppliers. Ten jobs in a small town like this is like 1,000 jobs in Dublin. Small businesses are key to Ireland’s recovery”, Michael concluded.
