Following an appeal in last week’s edition of The Avondhu, Blackie the dog has been successfully reunited with her owners.
Blackie was picked up by Nuala McNamara, a member of the Veterinary Department of Cork County Council, while walking on the road between Rathcormac and Watergrasshill one evening recently.
The dog was in poor physical condition when picked up and brought home by Nuala, who began a campaign to reunite the dog with her rightful owners.
Seeing the notice in last week’s newspaper, Blackie’s owners were able to get in touch with Nuala about their missing pet.
After over a week away from home, a delighted Blackie was reunited with her owners last Thursday.
Her owners say she originally arrived to them around 10 years ago as a stray and has become a popular pet in the local community in the intervening years.
