Plans for the Easter Rising commemoration in Doneraile, presented by Londis Doneraile, began in earnest two months ago and the programme has developed into an extensive one of history, connecting with our past and local involvement.

Starting at 4pm on Friday, April 29, one of the organisers John Roche explained that it is about being inclusive and involving everyone from across the community.

At 4pm, people will be gathering at the Catholic church yard with Fr Bluitt where the Irish flag will be raised, the Proclamation will be read and there will be a wreath-laying ceremony.
