Bergin takes Bronze for Ireland in U23 Worlds

Fermoy Rowing Club member and Kildinan local, Alison Bergin has claimed the Bronze medal for the Women’s Single Sculls at the U23 World Rowing Championships, achieving a World Record time on her path to securing a place on the podium.

In Varese, Italy, Alison began her leg of the competition on Monday, July 25 racing for Ireland in the heats where she finished with a time of 7.37.07, taking fourth place in the fastest heat.

Then on Tuesday last (26th), Alison took part in the Repechage, having finished fourth in the heats and won her race by almost 18 seconds, qualifying her for the A/B Semi on Friday, July 29.
