This week, new research led by King's College in London suggests that people's attitudes towards mental health are changing for the better.

The research surveyed people in the UK over the course of ten years and attitudes were evaluated as falling into one of two areas: prejudice and exclusion or tolerance and support for community care.

Starting this week, we are running a series on young people and mental health featuring the results of 616 surveys from students in schools in The Avondhu area.

The surveys paint a picture of what the local young people think about mental health and how important it is to them. Over the coming weeks, we will examine the results and reveal why it is vital to always be mindful of your mental health.

When people think of mental health, they often don't think of their own situation and well being, but in reality, everyone has to think about their mental health and taking care of it should be a priority for everyone.

We all let work, stress and worries overcome us at times, but what's important is how we deal with those stressful situations.
