Bartlemy-based outside broadcast facilities company TVM had one of its most high profile events to date with recent coverage of the G8 Summit in County Fermanagh. TVM provided around-the-clock coverage with 53 hours of broadcasting from the Lough Erne resort to the media centre in Killyhevilin where over 160 different feeds were distributed from their newest OB Unit to the world's broadcasters. The satellite transmission was managed by Tomás MacCraith from DIGISAT in Ring, Co Waterford.

TVM had a crew of 39 involved in the OB. Marie Arnold coordinated the logistics from the arrival of world leaders at Aldergrove Airport in Belfast to on-site coverage at Lough Erne and transmission at Killyhevlin. Six miles of cable were laid out to serve the various camera positions and media centre distribution points.

MD Bart Arnold told The Avondhu this week that the G8 summit was a huge success for TVM. "We are very proud of all our team who made a superb effort to deliver a top-class technical solution for this event," he said.

Another recent high profile event for the company was the ICC Champions Trophy coverage. Locally based Cork staff along with an international crew worked together to broadcast the cricket matches to 1.5 billion viewers in India and south east Asia for Star Sports. It involved two TVM trucks travelling between London, Cardiff and Birmingham for coverage of each cricket match played in the competiton over the last month.

Clients of the award winning local company, which was set up in 1986 include the BBC, BBC NI, CTN, ESPN, IMG, ITN, Nemeton, RTE, Setanta, Sky Sports, TV3 TG4 and a number of independent production houses. 2013 has been a very successful year so far for the company with June being a particularly busy month when OBs included coverage of the Sky Sports soccer internationals, ICC Champions Trophy, the G8 Summit, European Athletics Championships, GAA Championship, The Opry Series and Irish horse racing including the Irish Derby this weekend.
