Spirits were high in Bartlemy parish this week as the community came out to welcome home local resident Cathy Gubbins.
Cathy had fallen in her home resulting in a broken hip and femur which saw her sent to the hospital on December 12.
On her 75th birthday, she had been discharged to a respite home, however, two days later she began showing symptoms of Covid-19, despite previously receiving a negative test not long beforehand.
“It was a very worrying time,” said her daughter-in-law Marie Gubbins.
