Barron’s Bakery in Cappoquin is due to feature on Neven's Irish Food Trails on RTE next week.
Internationally renowned chef Neven Maguire visited Barron’s specifically to see the famous Waterford blaa being made.
The Waterford blaa is only one of five Irish food products to be awarded prestigious Protected Geographical Indicator status which means that the product can only be called a blaa if it is made in the county of Waterford.
This status also applies to products like Champagne and Feta cheese which can only be called so if they are produced in a specific region.
