A planning application for a new Tesco store in Fermoy town has been brought before An Bord Pleanála in a third-party planning appeal with three key concerns being cited.

These include traffic concerns, the site’s close proximity to the River Blackwater and the possible negative effect on local businesses.

The proposed new supermarket development at Mill Road, located directly across from the Mart Car Park was granted permission by Cork County Council in July subject to 37 conditions.

The third-party appellant noted three key concerns within the submission made to Cork County Council, the first of which pertains to traffic concerns on Mill Road and the N72.
