Conna local Anthony Galvin is preparing to venture where no man has ever gone before, the Northern Pole of Inaccessibility.
The writer and children’s entertainer has been named amongst a team of 28 to venture to the remote arctic location under the guidance of world-renowned explorer Jim McNeill, in one of the most important and ambitious polar expeditions of our time, collecting vital climate change data en route.
“The North Pole of Inaccessibility is quite close to the Magnetic North Pole, but nobody has ever gotten to it. Partly that is because nobody has ever tried, but partly that is because it is very isolated,” Mr Galvin said.
