There have been some great All-Ireland vintage rallies in Castletownroche over the years and the good news is that patrons can look forward to another big occasion on this Sunday, July 20.

This event is always very well promoted with posters and the media used extensively to highlight the rally. The farming community, those with a connection to the land and vintage enthusiasts, turn out in force for what is always a most impressive gathering.

PLENTY CHOICE

However, vehicles and machinery are only half the story and visitors can also expect to see farming demonstrations, old time threshing, trade stalls along with a wide selection of domestic animals and several varieties of fowl.

Children's entertainment and in more recent times, helicopter rides, are other popular attractions.

The setting for the rally is the car boot sale site and the car boot brigade add considerable colour and excitement to proceedings. In the build up to the rally, The Avondhu is carrying an extensive promotional feature in next week's paper - to be associated, contact, 025-24451.
