Mitchelstown handballer Tomás Donegan is one half of an All-Ireland winning duo this week, as he and teammate Paul Hedderman won the Golden Masters A All-Ireland handball final against Dublin last weekend.
Mr Donegan plays with Galbally Handball Club and achieved the victory with his long-time teammate, Paul, who plays out of Hospital Handball Club in County Limerick.
What promised to be a very tough encounter against their Dublin opponents certainly lived up to expectations and speaking with The Avondhu this week, Mr Donegan recalled that the encounter was a close one, but ultimately, a ‘brilliant occasion’.
Thanking all their supporters for travelling with them to Dublin, Tomás reckoned their chances going into the final were ’50/50’.
