A new animated film on 1916 tells of young teenage soldier in Michael Collins’ assassination unit

‘A Terrible Hullabaloo’ is a short film about young Vinny Byrne during the 1916 Easter Rising – it was funded by the Irish Film Board in the After ’16 scheme.

The short film uses documentary recordings from 1980 when, aged 78, the former teenage Irish Volunteer,Vinny Byrne, recalls the dramatic events and his role in the revolution alongside rebel leader Thomas MacDonagh.
