A day in the life of a Fermoy First Responder

No one knows the time or the place when chest pain, a stroke or even cardiac arrest could hit.

In the Fermoy area, it could take more than 40 minutes for an ambulance to arrive and by then, it may be too late. 

However, thanks to the wonderful volunteers in Fermoy Community First Responders who are on call 24/7, help will be with you within minutes when you call 999 or 112. 

There are currently four responders who are available to attend call-outs during the day and approximately seven available at night, but for the responders to cover Fermoy town and any calls within a radius of 5km around the town, the group are very stretched.
