Every day, news sources are saturated with images of people trying to get into the EU as the immigration crisis worsens.

We all agree it’s a terrible situation but now, a group of people from The Avondhu area have set up Operation Mayday as a way to raise awareness in the community about the crisis.

Established by Ballindangan farmer William Blackburne as a result of a chat he had with his friend Donal Clancy, Operation Mayday sets out to create awareness about immigrants and to foster a culture of acceptance and understanding among people.
