Avondhu readers will be aware of the extensive fundraising campaign to assist Rathcormac teenager, Sinead Kearney. All monies raised are going towards covering substantial costs associated with her treatment for Lyme's disease.

There's been a fantastic response to date and the hope is that this support will extend to a forthcoming cycle, scheduled for Sunday, 30th August.

SUNDAY, 30TH AUGUST IS THE DAY

Presently, it's all systems go for the Cycling Ireland approved 'Sinead Shines charity cycle' which will depart Rathcormac at 9.30am on Sunday, 30th August. A demanding 100km route will take in Lisgoold, Midleton, Youghal, Tallow, Conna and Castlelyons. 100km isn't 'a spin to the shops' and a reasonable level of fitness is required. Those who are more leisurely in their approach to cycling have a 26km family route option. The cost of registering for the 100km cycle is €25 on the day (a discount applies if you register online www.sineadshines.org/cycle), registration for family route is €5 per person on the day.

LENDING THEIR ASSISTANCE

Fermoy Cycling Club, Order of Malta, St John's Ambulance and Three Counties Motorcycle Club have all kindly agreed to help out on the day and again, their collection expertise is a big plus.
