A family from Rathcormac on holiday in France were among the many thousands affected by the European wildfires.
Kim Ware travelled with her family, Dominic, Scott and Maison, to Bordeaux on Tuesday, July 21st, and described the ‘frightening’ situation as the area was blanketed in smoke and ash rained down at their accommodation, just 5km from Bordeaux as fires continued to blaze.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork’s RedFM, Kim explained that while their flight was landing, they could see the devastation all around.
