
A Freedom of Information (FoI) request has revealed that in excess of €320,000 in funding has been spent to date on the Fermoy Town Centre Renewal project by Cork County Council.
Funding of €1,540,000 was allocated to the project under the Rural Regeneration Development Fund (RRDF) in 2022, under a grant which is maximum 80% funded, for a project with an expected total cost of €1,925,000.
Under the FoI, Cork County Council has confirmed to The Avondhu that to date, the council has spent €320,214.60 on the project, resulting in a total drawdown from RRDF funding of €236,196.48.
