The establishment of Holy Family Primary School in Fermoy marks the beginning on an exciting new chapter in the educational life of the town. The new school follows on from the formal amalgamation of Presentation Primary School and Bishop Murphy Memorial School.
The school’s first open night took place last Thursday and generated considerable interest. Proceedings commenced with a poetry recital and a debut performance by the the Holy Family Primary School Choir.
The key note address was delivered by Leona O’Connell, who spoke about the potential of the town’s newest primary school to provide a comprehensive educational experience for all. Holy Family Primary School would draw inspiration from both Presentation Primary School and Bishop Murphy Memorial School, she said.
