Lucky escape following MacCurtain Street incident

A motorist had a lucky escape on MacCurtain Street, Fermoy last Friday after colliding with a wall, located near the entrance to Waterloo Lane. 

After striking the wall, the vehicle dipped more than a metre down onto the adjoining footpath at around 4pm. Thankfully, no pedestrians were in the immediate vicinity of the car at the time.

The driver, a man in his 80s, was conveyed to hospital as a precaution following the incident, but is understood to have no major injuries.
