Hall of fame award for Willie Magner

There was a very large attendance in the Hill Stop Inn, Castletownroche on Friday night for the annual ‘Hall of Fame’ presentation.

This year Willie Magner was the recipient. Willie has given outstanding service to the club at all grade and levels for almost 60 years. Tom Barrett Chairman presided, with long serving secretary, Bobby Hazelwood, giving a detailed account of Willie’s sporting career.

In Bobby’s address, he outlined Willie’s involvement with the Castletownroche club through good and difficult times. First, the Magner family have been associated with the ‘Hall of Fame’. In 1991 Willie’s late father, Dave was recognised for his contribution.
