Students, schools and clubs are being invited to participate once again in a campaign which aims to bridge continents through individual acts of kindness.
Irish charity, Our Shoes, collect pre-loved sports shoes directly from schools for donation to South African children, these donations are distributed to children in need by NGO’s on the ground. Their Our Shoes 2025 campaign is set to be an impactful initiative that fosters a spirit of community and charity among young people.
By donating pre-loved sports shoes, students will help reignite hope, restore dignity, and open doors to new opportunities for children in African townships. This campaign not only empowers children to walk confidently towards a brighter future but also fosters meaningful connections that transcend borders.
“We encourage your school to seize this opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children in need,” a spokesperson for the charity said. “We are asking schools and clubs to get involved and run your own campaign in school, by registering for Our Shoes Campaign 2025.”
“During our visit to NGO’s and schools in Cape Town in February 2024, we witnessed the positive impact our efforts have had on recipients and their communities.”
Over 200 national schools participated in 2024, alongside over 40 Transition Year classes. Together, they collected an astounding 16,000 pairs of shoes, all destined for a second life, providing hope and dignity to those in need.
