Fermoy and Mitchelstown joint winners in Pride in Our Community

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll, presents a Highly Commended Small Village Award 2024 to members of Conna Community Council at the Pride in our Community Awards. Also included are local Cork county councillors, Pauline O'Dwyer and Yvonne Cahalane of organisers, Muintir na Tire Cork.

Joint success for Fermoy TidyTowns group and Mitchelstown Community Council at the Pride in Our Community 2024 Competition Awards on Wednesday last at the Kingsley Hotel, Cork where the two groups were announced the joint winners of the Large Town North Cork category.

Chairman of Fermoy Tidy Towns, Cllr Noel McCarthy said it was a ‘great win’, a ‘great achievement’ and stated that the group were delighted to be named alongside Mitchelstown for the award.

Fermoy TidyTowns were recognised for their work on a project carried out on Devlin Street in the town, and offered thanks and acknowledgement to Avondhu Blackwater Partnership and Cork County Council who they worked closely alongside.
