With safety and security a huge consideration for householders these days, and especially the elderly, the value of Neighbourhood Watch, the community based crime preventation initiative, is much appreciated.

“It is so important, operating the personal alarms scheme and maintaining a line of communication with local Gardai,” chairman Joe Tobin pointed out this week as the Fermoy branch, which has been operating in the town for the past eight years, prepares for its AGM on Monday next, December 9th.

NEW IDEAS

They are seeking new members and new ideas. “We’d welcome new people. It’s always good in terms of fresh ideas,” Joe pointed out.

The AGM will take place in the Community Youth Centre at 7.45pm on Monday night. Anyone who’d like more information can contact Joe on 087 3234436 or community Garda Kathryn Canty at Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100.
